Airbnb is one of the most popular applications that help people list, find and rent vacation homes for a fee, of course. It has a massive reach of 34,000 cities in 191 countries, and it seems that the company behind it has decided to expand its offering.

Airbnb is currently testing an Android app that would allow its users to get city guides and recommendations for local events in the city that they're visiting. The app has been spotted by Bloomberg, and it's currently in beta testing on Google Play Store, but it's not available to all users.

Still, this means that it won't be long before the application is rolled out globally. Some rumors say that Airbnb's new app could be released in November, during a conference organized by the company.

Airbnb Trips offers access to personal itineraries with details on upcoming Airbnb rentals, city guidebooks, dining and happy hour events. The application will basically cater to the needs of regular Airbnb users who have already booked a room and wish to start planning their trips in detail.

There's little information on the new upcoming application at this point, especially since all slots for the beta testing program have been filled in, and the program isn't available in some countries. Nevertheless, Airbnb Trips will surely challenge other players in the market, including TripAdvisor.
