Acer and Microsoft’s relationship is strengthening

Yesterday we told you that Acer’s most recent Windows Phone, the Liquid M220, would be available with Windows 10 Mobile later this year, which means the device will probably receive an update after Microsoft’s new mobile OS launches into the wild.

According to one of German website WinFuture’s editors, Acer is looking to develop a closer relationship with the new platform and unveil not one but a total of four new Windows Phone devices at IFA 2015.

There’s no information related to what kind of specs we’re going to see on board these models, but even so, we hope that at least one of them will bundle more premium specs.

At this moment, there is no official confirmation that Acer will indeed launch new Windows Phone devices at IFA 2015. Actually, the information goes against a recent report according to which Microsoft’s Windows and Surface Business Group Leader in South Africa, Anthony Doherty, hinted towards a “November timeframe” release date for Windows 10 Mobile.

Since IFA takes place in September, it might be a little too soon for the Windows 10 Mobile devices to start rolling out. On the other hand, it might turn out that Acer has new Windows Phone devices to show us, which will be upgradable to Windows 10 Mobile.
