The amazingly popular “Words With Friends” is close to achieving the 50 million downloads milestone on Google Play store.

The game is even more popular on iOS platform, especially due to the fact it was initially launched on Apple’s mobile platform.

Zynga, creators of the game, have just released a new version of “Words With Friends,” which comes with a few new features and improvements.

First of all, developers added SMS Invites, which allows players to invite their friends to a game via SMS message. In addition, Ongoing and Local Notifications have been included as well, which provide improvements to the game’s notification system.

Last but not least, Words With Friends now automatically places a shortcut on the home screen after installation.
