In China, well-specced smartphones are being launched all the time, but OEMs from the country don't do the same in the US.

However, ZTE is not your average Chinese device maker, so the company has rolled out the new ZMax smartphone in the US, which is a handset comparable to the Moto G.

It will cost users only $230 / €178 and comes with some really neat specifications. For starters, it arrives with a spacious 5.7-inch display which kind of sends it off to phablets land.

It takes advantage of 1280 x 720 HD pixel resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage (but you have microSD for expansion too).

The phone comes equipped with two cameras (8MP on the back and 1.6MP front-facing one) and offers dual-microphone noise cancellation and Dolby DM3 audio.

Under the hood rests a pretty hefty 3,400 mAh battery, and the handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

The ZMax is a LTE device and those interested will be able to pick it up for only $10.50 / €8 per month if they are willing to jump on board with T-Mobile and pay for it over the upcoming 24 months.

The ZTE ZMax goes on sale this month, starting September 24.
