Chinese manufacturer ZTE is reportedly gearing up for the release of its ZTE Tania Windows Phone on the market in the United States.

The smartphone was made available for purchase in the UK a few months ago and should hit shelves stateside before the end of the year, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Lixin Cheng, President of ZTE North America, told CNet recently that the device will indeed arrive in the country, but he did not offer specific info on when that might happen, nor did he offer details on the carriers set to launch it.

Tania will offer all of the features and capabilities of Windows Phone Mango when released in the US, but it will pack mid-level hardware.

The phone sports a 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen display, along with a 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a 5-megapixel camera on the back, and support for HSDPA, Wi-Fi, and GPS services.
