What if there was such a thing as a small and light projector you could fit into your backpack or even your purse and take with you virtually anywhere? Well, Chinese device maker ZTE unveiled one such device at CES 2015 back in January.

It’s called the Spro2 and is one of the few smart projectors available on the market that runs Android. The device will be sold from AT&T starting April 24 for $399 / €371 on a two-year contact. If you don’t want to make a commitment, you’ll also be able to pick it up devoid of a contract for $499 / €464 a pop.

The little projector (5.3 x 5.2 inches / 13.46 x 13.20 cm) is capable of projecting an image ranging from 5 to 120 inches / 0.127 to 3m with a native resolution of 1280 x 720p. It also offers auto focus and 200 lumen brightness.

But the Spro 2 is not only a projector. It can also act as a mobile hotspot allowing you to connect up to 8 devices to AT&T's 4G LTE network at the same time.

As for practical specifications, the Spro 2 has a 5-inch display of its own with 1280 x 820 pixel resolution and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.1GHz, working with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage (with microSD card included, unlike some smartphones).

The unit runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box and draws life from a hefty 6,300 mAh battery.
