Officially unveiled at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, ZTE’s new flagship Android-based handset Grand S will arrive on shelves in the United States before the end of the year.

The Chinese mobile phone maker has officially confirmed this, although no specific info on the availability has been provided.

Lixin Cheng, head of ZTE's North American business, confirmed to Cnet that the handset would be launched in the US and that carriers would be picking it up, but he hasn’t named any of them.

Apparently, the company managed to impress carriers with its latest high-end devices, which could translate into a wider range of top-tier smartphones from it being released stateside.

“There was a wow factor when they saw them,” he said, referring to the 2014 concept models that ZTE has showcased to US carrier executives.
