Starting April 1, owners of BlackBerry devices will no longer be able to download the Yahoo! app designed for them, the web giant announced on Friday.

Those who have already downloaded the software will be able to continue using it even after that date, but no updates will be provided moving forth, as support for it will be killed off.

“Effective April 1, 2013, the Yahoo! app for BlackBerry will no longer be available for download. For those of you who have already downloaded the app, you can continue to use it but it will no longer be actively supported,” the company announced in a blog post.

Apparently, the move is part of a larger services and apps streamline program that Yahoo! will kick off soon, which will include closing down other products as well. More info on the matter can be found in this  article.
