Yahoo! has confirmed on Tuesday that its mobile user base had grown beyond the 300-million mark during the first quarter of the year.

This is an important achievement for the company, showing that its switch on focus to the mobile segment of the market is starting to pay off.

As TNW notes, Yahoo! announced last year plans to strengthen its presence on the mobile market, and it has already made steps in this direction, with the acquisition of small companies that helped it increase its mobile resources.

Moving forth, Yahoo! will continue to focus in this area, through more acquisitions and by ensuring that it can meet the demand on mobiles. Furthermore, it will also look for new means to monetize its presence on the mobile field, the company's CEO, Marissa Mayer, said yesterday.
