Shortly after announcing its partnership with Ingram Micro to bring more of its Xperia smartphones in the United States, Sony Ericsson introduce the Xperia arc S.

Currently, the device is available from Sony's online store  for no less than $499.99 (370 EUR) outright.

However, the phone offers quite a lot of good features, including an excellent 8-megapixel camera with 3D sweep panorama ability, and a 1.4 GHz single core Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon processor.

Furthermore, Xperia arc S is powered by Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, but Sony Ericsson has just confirmed that the smartphone will receive the latest Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade, along with other Xperia devices launched in 2011.

Customers who prefer to purchase the smartphone for much cheaper will have to wait until one of the major carriers adds the Xperia arc S to its portfolio.
