Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is currently rolling out an updated iteration of the Info-eye application for Xperia Z1 smartphones, namely version 1.2.04.

The new build comes to devices with a series of improvements to maps, as well as with a redesigned overlay, XperiaBlog reports.

Following the update, users should be able to add map markers, while also enjoying the option to scan barcodes to see product info. The updated application also comes with support for higher resolution images, as well as with various bug fixes packed inside.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Info-eye application was designed to provide users with visual search capabilities, so that they could easily receive information about various objects around them or about places they visit.

Owners of Xperia Z1 smartphones should already be seeing the updated app flavor arriving on their handsets.
