A new software update is currently being delivered to Sony Xperia Z Ultra smartphones out there, namely version 14.1.B.2.257.

The new app release is available only for the owners of Xperia Z Ultra C6802 (the HSPA+ model) for the time being, though xperiablog notes that the C6833 variant (which is LTE-enabled) will also receive it in the near future.

Sony also unveiled a changelog for the new update, claiming that users will enjoy various improvements to the touchscreen responsiveness, along with optimized display calibration.

Furthermore, following the update, users will take advantage of better battery life, faster email sync, as well as a smoother user experience.

The software should already be popping up on smartphones out there, but users can also check for its availability manually, by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates and hitting the Check now button.
