Users in Japan interested in the purchase of a new Android-based tablet PC can now opt in for the new Xperia Tablet Z (SO-03E) from Sony, which has arrived on shelves at NTT DOCOMO, after being officially confirmed a few months ago.

The slate was made available for purchase with support for the wireless carrier’s 4G LTE network, with a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 screen on the front, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor inside, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top.

As XperiaBlog notes in a recent post, NTT DOCOMO currently lists the Xperia Tablet Z (SO-03E) with a price tag of 85,470 Yen ($906 / €696 / £602) attached to it.

Starting with April 13, users in Japan will also be able to grab the Wi-Fi flavor of the tablet PC, though that model won’t offer support for 1-Seg TV or NOTTV as the LTE version does.
