Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile might soon release a new software update for the owners of Xperia SP devices, and the firmware has already received the necessary approvals from the PTCRB.

Said release, spotted on the PTCRB website as version 12.0.A.2.254, has been certified for three different versions of the device, including the HSPA+ C5302, the Asian/European LTE C5303 and North America LTE C5306, as XperiaBlog notes.

At the moment, the smartphone is running under firmware version 12.0.A.2.245, and the new update is expected to bring along mainly bug fixes and other small enhancements.
