Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is slowly arriving on Galaxy Nexus devices out there, but owners of other handsets will have to wait a bit longer before it is made available for them as well.

For Xperia S users, however, some good news comes from the CyanogenMod team, which has already begun working on a custom CM10 ROM for them.

Based on Android 4.1, CyanogenMod for Xperia S is still in its infancy, and it might need a long time to actually reach handsets, that’s for sure.

However, things are moving in the right direction, and Sony users will get a taste of Jelly Bean sooner rather than later.

Of course, this is not an official release for their devices, and it still requires tweaking the phone, which will void warranty, but many will certainly choose to walk this road than wait for the handset vendor to start deployments.
