Sony Mobile appears set to make the Android 4.1.2 Jelly bean operating system update available for more of its 2012 devices, and Xperia AX SO-01E, currently available for purchase in Japan via NTT DOCOMO, is one of the handsets set to receive it soon.

The phone has just emerged over at the Bluetooth SIG with firmware 9.1.A.0.488 loaded on it, based on Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system, which suggests that an official deployment of the new software might be near.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Sony has already begun the delivery of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for Xperia T and Xperia TX devices, soon after receiving PTCRB approvals for it.

No official info on when the new platform release will arrive on Xperia AX has been provided, but it might not be too long before these details are unveiled, so stay tuned.
