Owners of a Xolo Play smartphone out there should know that a new software update has started to be rolled out to their devices over-the-air.

According to the mobile phone maker, the new firmware release is meant to provide users with a series of performance improvements on their devices, though no specific details on what changes were made have been provided.

At the moment, the new software release is also available for download through Xolo’s support website for all those who would like to install it using a desktop computer.

Furthermore, users can also head over to Settings > About phone > System updates > Update to grab the new firmware wirelessly, as fonearena notes.

Unfortunately, the new software release is still based on the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system, though an OS upgrade might also be offered to Xolo Play users soon.
