Xolo Q500 has just been introduced in India and seems to be a decent alternative for those who can’t afford a high-end Android smartphone. The bad news is that the latest Xolo handset comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform out of the box, which is rather old now.

Aside from that, Xolo Q5 packs pretty decent specs for its price. Speaking of which, fonearena reports that Xolo Q500 is now available for purchase in India for only Rs 7,999 off contract, which is about $130 or €95.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

It also sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as dual cameras (5-megapixel rear photo snapper and VGA front-facing camera).

Last but not least, Xolo Q500 comes pre-loaded with TransPic app, which allows users to translate Hindi text within images to English with the help of the phone’s camera.
