Craving an LTE-enabled smartphone, but you’re worried it will put a big toll on your budget? It doesn't have to be like that once Xiaomi releases this smartphone, which just received TENAA certification.

We don’t yet have a name for it, but it appears the device is a low-budget variation of the Xiaomi Redmi 2 and will be sold for as cheap as $65 / €55 (as seen at Gizmo China).

The handset comes equipped with a 4.7-inch 720p display and draws life from a Leadcore chip (not a Snapdragon 410 as is the case with the Xiaomi Redmi 2) which boasts quad Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.6GHz fitted with 1GB of RAM and dual-core Mali-T628.

Last year, Xiaomi shook hands with local chip maker Leadcore Technologies which gave it access to LTE technology, hence the chip residing inside of this upcoming smartphone.

The unnamed device also brings forth an 8MP / 1080p main camera and takes advantage of 8GB of storage. It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box.

The TENAA listing reveals that the unnamed device will enjoy both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE connectivity. For the time being, there’s no word when this low-cost unit will appear in retail, but hopefully we will learn its name soon.
