Today, Xiaomi is celebrating five years of existence, so to mark the date as the special occasion it is, the company rolled out the super-affordable LTE-enabled Redmi 2A handset which will be sold for only $96 / €89.

But Xiaomi also has a neat surprise in store for ladies who love feeling chic. A few months ago, the Chinese phone maker launched its Mi Note flagship, which was offered in the usual coloring paint jobs (black and white).

The surprise is that, as of this week, Xiaomi is offering an extra pink option of the device, which will certainly appeal to fashionistas out there. This is the second special edition Xiaomi has created around the Mi Note, the first one being the Bamboo edition that boasts a rear panel made from natural bamboo.

The pinkish Mi Note has pretty much the same specifications you’d expect to see with the regular version. That means you’ll have a 5.7-inch display with 1080p and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. There’s also a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, plus 16GB of internal storage.

Xiaomi is also offering a 13MP OIS camera (with 4K video shooting capabilities) on the back and a 4MP shooter in front, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac and a worthy 3,000 mAh battery inside.

Xiaomi has also added a fast charging feature which allows users to charge their battery up to 60% in 40 minutes.

The only caveat is that the MIUI ROM on board the Mi Note Pink is still based on Android 4.4 KitKat and there’s still no word on when the new Xiaomi plans to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The phablet will sell for $403 / €375.
