It’s no mystery that the Xiaomi Redmi Note will be getting a successor soon. The device has been announced in March 2014, so it’s about time Xiaomi pushes out the next-gen model.

Luckily for those who were wondering what specs the Redmi Note 2 will bring to the table, they have already been leaked into the wild thanks to Chinese source TEENA.

The new Redmi Note seems to be taking things up a notch, but will not be a new device per-se. Anyway, the phone will boast a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. While the chipset inside is not mentioned by name, the quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz mention suggests we’re dealing with a Snapdragon 410.

The handset should arrive in the wild with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, expandable all the way to 32GB of internal storage.

Apart from that, we’re going to be seeing a 13MP main camera on the back and a 5MP selfie cam up in the front. Dimension wise, the Redmi Note 2 remains the same. However, the new phone has been made lighter, now breaking the scales at only 188 g / 0.41 inches (compared to 199 g / 0.43 inches).

Finally, the Redmi Note 2 arrives with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box and will be offered in a myriad of colors. The Redmi Note 2 is expected to sell for around $128 / €112.
