One day after updating its Music application for Windows Phone with support for Live Tile, Microsoft has released a new version of Xbox Video as well.

However, the latest iteration of the Video app for Windows Phone handsets does not come with any new major features, instead developers seem to have focused on squashing some of the most annoying issues reported by users.

The Video app has been bumped to version 1.6.258.0 on Windows Phone 8 and to 2.6.258.0 on Windows Phone 8.1. According to developers, the update should make the personal video list sorting persist across app launches.

The Xbox Video Team has also confirmed that the full screen button no longer causes the application to show a white, black screen for some videos.

Last but not least, the official changelog mentions that the update also brings lots of polish fixes and general improvements, but no additional details on any of these have been provided.

The Video application is expected to receive another update in about two weeks from now, but it’s unclear what changes it will contain. Stay tuned for more info on the next Video app updates.

You can now download Xbox Video for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
