Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system is trying to grab as much market share as possible around the world, and it seems that it is most popular in the US, India and Brazil now.

The info comes from AdDuplex, which has compiled a chart with the top 20 Windows Phone markets out there, which shows that Russia, and Italy are present on the top five list too. Next in line come countries such as China, Mexico, the UK, Germany and Argentina.

According to the report, 11 percent of all Windows Phone devices out there are in the United States, 7.5 percent of them are in India, and 6.9 percent in Brazil.

The chart is based on data “from 11 global apps and games that served AdDuplex ads on the day of July 8th, 2014 (UTC time),” AdDuplex announces in a blog post.

Moreover, the company explains that these applications served ads to around 200,000 users on that day, and that they were selected to be “as global as possible.”

However, the company does note that “the dataset could still be affected by different ad strategies of the app publishers on a country-by-country basis and other factors.”

Windows Phone is enjoying a small market share worldwide when compared to Android and iOS, but it has been growing steadily over the past several quarters, and is expected to gain even more ground once devices running under the Windows Phone 8.1 OS flavor arrive on more markets out there.
