Redmond-based software giant Microsoft appears ready to provide owners of Windows Phone 8 devices with some new features in the near future, and the previously rumored FM Radio support would be one of them, a new report on the matter suggests.

While available in Windows Phone 7, the feature was not included in Windows Phone 8 right from the start, but The Verge suggests that it might arrive on devices as part of the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 (General Distribution Release) update rumored not long ago to be in the works.

Both Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 devices are said to receive it, along with other handsets that pack the needed hardware inside.

Furthermore, the update will also deliver a new screen activation gesture to Lumia devices, enabling users to double-tap the screen to bring the device up from standby. A flip to silence option (rumored a while ago) will also be included, along with Lumia color profile settings for the screen.
