The development of the update might be in its early stages

Nokia appears to be getting ready for the release of new software updates for its Windows Phone 8-based Lumia devices, and such firmware has been spotted in Navifirm for the Lumia 820.

The update is said to be none other than the GDR2 upgrade that was rumored last week, and its presence in Navifirm might suggest that Nokia is already testing it for release, WMPoweruser notes.

However, it seems that the update doesn’t bring along a new version of the mobile operating system, and that only the handset’s firmware is being changed, at least this is what WP7forum.ru found out after downloading and installing it.

Nokia might be in the early stages of development with the new update for Lumia 820, yet it might have it ready for users in the not too distant future, so stay tuned for more on this.
