Soon, owners of Nokia Lumia 935 smartphones on the network of Australian wireless carrier Vodafone should be able to download and install the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system on their devices, as the platform upgrade has been already approved at the carrier.

Previously, the wireless carrier confirmed that the update would arrive on Lumia 925 devices on its network in the not too distant future, and it seems that the rollout is set to kick off soon.

At the moment, the operator notes on its website that Windows Phone 8.1 for Lumia 925 has been tested and approved and that it is awaiting rollout details.

There’s no telling when the new OS update will start arriving on smartphones, but we can assume that it won’t be long at all.

Some owners of Nokia Lumia 925 devices have already received the update as part of a pilot testing program that kicked off a few weeks back, and Microsoft is expected to push the platform to more of them very soon.

At Vodafone Australia, the update should arrive on handsets such as Nokia Lumia 625, Lumia 720, Lumia 820 and Lumia 1320 too. However, it appears that the carrier is still waiting to receive the OS upgrade for these devices to start testing it.

Hopefully, Windows Phone 8.1 will indeed arrive on smartphones as soon as this month, just as previous reports on the matter have suggested. Stay tuned for more on this.
