Windows Phone 8.1, the latest flavor of Microsoft’s mobile operating system, has been released as a Developer Preview on April 14, and over one million users have already downloaded and installed it, though it seems that not all of them were as happy with the OS.

Owners of Samsung ATIV SE phones on Verizon’s network have been plagued with various issues following the update, including freezes, reboots, or un-responsive functions.

As a recent article on WPCentral explains, many of those who installed Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview on ATIV SE have experienced unresponsive touchscreens, while others reported issues with the device’s camera application.

One user reports that their handset started to freeze after making phone calls, and that it needed reboots sometime in order to become responsive once again.

Another user notes that the phone also froze randomly, and that sometimes it would reboot all by itself.

According to WPCentral, the main issue here might be the lack of proper firmware components that would make the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview work best with the hardware inside the device.

Given this issue, users are advised to hold off from installing the platform on their Samsung ATIV SE devices. The final platform update, which should arrive in a few months, should resolve these problems.
