It is a small update that should deliver minor fixes and improvements

Not all Windows Phone 8 users out there are currently receiving the Lumia Cyan upgrade (which provides them with a taste of the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system), but Microsoft is still rolling out updates for devices already running under the latest OS iteration.

Thus, those of you who have upgraded their phones to the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview platform should be receiving a new update today, in the form of build 12400.

To be more precise, the new build will bring the software version of your devices up to 8.10.12400.899 (it was 8.10.12397.895 before). However, no specific info on what was included in the new release has been provided as of now.

In fact, the update does not appear to sport major changes, nor does it provide users with features that have been announced for the Lumia Cyan update.

The new software will arrive on devices as a 21MB download, which means that you’ll be able to get and install it pretty fast. Most probably, it contains a series of small fixes and improvements, as Nokiapoweruser notes.

In addition to handsets running the Developer Preview release of Windows Phone 8.1, smartphones such as Lumia 630, Lumia 635, and Lumia 930 should also receive the new refresh, it seems.
