Owners of a Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone on the network of wireless carrier AT&T should rejoice, as the Windows Phone 7.8 operating system update is said to have started rolling out to their devices.

The info comes from Nokia Care US themselves, which posted the following on Twitter: “AT&T Lumia 900 7.8 SW Update 2175.2307.8862.13100 now available via Zune PC App.”

As wpsuperfanboy notes, the new update brings along a new start screen experience with resizable tiles, and new theme colors, as well as an enhancement to Live Tiles, which are now updating properly.

Furthermore, the new OS flavor also delivers improvements for the lock screen, enabling users to place the Bing photo of the day as wallpaper.

Following the update, users will see platform version 7.10.8862.144 loaded on their devices, and will also be able to access new applications through the Nokia Collection in the Windows Phone Store.
