The amazingly-popular WhatsApp Messenger application for Windows Phone devices has just been updated with more stability enhancements and new features.

According to MyNokiaBlog, the application received the ability to mail chat history, though the option to transfer chat history or sync online has yet to be included in the application.

Furthermore, developers removed the option to stay connected via Wi-Fi network when the screen is locked, which has been brought in by a previous update. This means bad news for users without a data plan who still want the application to offer push notifications.

That’s about all the changes included in this update, though developers have yet to issue an official changelog for this version.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.8.8 is now available as a free download via Windows Phone Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 7.5.
