One of the most popular messaging applications for mobile phones, WhatsApp Messenger has just been updated with additional content.

For the time being only the Android iteration received this update, but we expect it to be pushed to other mobile platforms as well.

The latest version of WhatsApp brings improved emoji picker with expanded symbols, as well as some miscellaneous bug fixes. Last but not least, the update includes several localization improvements, which have yet to be detailed.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.8.5310 is now available as a free download via Google Play store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.

Keep in mind that only the first year of use will be free, after which you will have to pay $0.99 USD/year.
