Great news for WhatsApp Messenger users, as developers have finally decided to update their application with the new Material Design language that's kind of mandatory for Lollipop apps.

The latest update for WhatsApp completely redesigns the application and adds a dark green main color that looks very much like WhatsApp Web app.

As AndroidWorld.it points out, the application is not yet available in Google Play Store, but those who absolutely need to see what the application looks like after the update can now download it via developer's website.

Apart from Material Design, the folks over at WhatsApp have included all sorts of visual improvements and tweaks, such as a new status bar and smoother animations. New profiles and sharing options have been implemented too.

You can now download WhatsApp Messenger for Android 2.12.34 for free via the developer's website. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.

It's also worth mentioning that some features may require newer versions of the Android operating system, but the basic set of features should be available to anyone carrying an Android handset.

We expect the new version of WhatsApp Messenger to arrive in Google Play store in the next couple of days, so you can wait until then if you don't want to download and install the APK file.
