WhatsApp Messenger has become one of the most popular instant messaging services, which is why it has attracted lots of potential buyers. In the end, it was Facebook who paid the price for owning WhatsApp, but for what purpose, we will know soon enough.

Anyway, the developers behind WhatsApp Messenger continue to work on bringing new features and improvements to their application regardless of the platform.

Most versions have their own beta program, which receives updates almost every week and sometime twice or even more. The Android version of WhatsApp beta has just gotten its first update for this week and it appears that, unlike the previous ones, this one comes with a very short changelog attached to it.

According to this changelog, the latest update for WhatsApp Messenger for Android brings “miscellaneous bug fixes and improvements.” Aside from that, nothing else is mentioned, so we must assume that there are no new features introduced with this update.

Obviously, given the fact that this is a beta build, you won’t find it on Google Play Store. However, you can now download WhatsApp Messenger for Android 2.11.221 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.
