Lots of bug fixes have been delivered as well

Waze, the application that provides drivers with a community-based mapping, traffic and navigation services, has just received a small but important update.

Ironically, while Waze promised users to offer a way to “outsmart” traffic, save time and fuel money, the application was heavy on the battery usage.

Windows Phone users have been complaining about battery usage of their smartphone when using Waze for quite a while now. It looks like developers have listened to what they have been asking for - a better battery life when using Waze - and have delivered.

Today's update for Waze promises improved battery life for Windows Phone users. It is unclear by how much the update will improve battery life, but any enhancement is more than welcome.

The very short changelog for this update also mentions “bug fixes,” but developers fail to share any additional details on this one.

If you don't have the application installed yet, you can now download Waze for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The application is fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.

Keep in mind that, in order to save battery, Waze will automatically shut down if you run it in the background and haven't driven for a while.
