One of the most important events in tech is about to kick off, with Google expected to make some pretty big announcements from the Moscone Center West in San Francisco.

The main keynote speech, which will be the platform for the most exciting announcements, is scheduled to start at 9.30 am PDT / 12.30 pm EDT / 17.30 pm BST today.

The entire I/O 2015 event is spread out throughout several days, so we should expect to see plenty more interesting news.

But the keynote will outline the juicier stuff. In a few hours, we hope to hear Google launch the Android M operating system, which should arrive with a bunch of improvements such as more effective RAM usage and advanced battery life.

Furthermore, this year Google is poised to unveil not one, but two Nexus smartphones, one made by Huawei and the other one by LG.

The search giant is also rumored to announce its new Android update policy. The new guidelines are said to apply only to Nexus devices. According to the rumors, from now on, Nexus devices will be guaranteed to receive OS updates for two years and security patches for three years.

Google might also make official its new Photo app, which leaked a few days ago, and also talk about a voice access service.

So if you’re excited about all these novelties, make sure you tune in at 9.30 am PDT / 12.30 pm EDT / 17.30 pm BST to watch the live video coverage right here.
