The update is available for Asha 230, 500, 501, 502, and 503

Nokia teased a major update for Asha handsets several weeks ago and confirmed that the upgrade would bring lots of new features and improvements that will further enhance their functionality.

Today, the Finnish company announced that it has kicked off the rollout of the previously teased Asha software update for the following mobile phones: Asha 500, 501, 502, 503, and 230.

In order to offer Asha users a glimpse of what the new software update for their devices has to offer, Nokia released a 2-minute hands-on video that shows some of the new features and improvements in action.

As the company points out, the Asha software update is free and easy and safe to install. The video describes the process of taking a selfie with the main camera on the back of the phone.

It looks like Nokia has been able to introduce an enhanced selfie mode that is voice guiding users into taking the perfect selfie even if they do not see the display.

The new Panorama feature of the camera is sampled in the short video as well, so Asha owners can learn how to take this type of photos. For more demoed features included in the Nokia Asha Software update check out the video below.
