Good news for Android fans and enthusiasts in the UK, as major carrier Vodafone has just released a brand new entry-level smartphone, the Smart 4 Mini.

The Smart 4 Mini bears Vodafone’s own branding, but it’s in fact manufactured by a Chinese company, probably ZTE, though we don’t have a confirmation yet.

Anyway, Eurodroid reports that Vodafone Smart 4 Mini is now available for purchase for only £50 (€60 / $85) on PAYG (pay as you go). Customers will be able to pick this one up in either black or while colors.

Given the low price, you should not expect anything out of the ordinary in terms of specs and software. In fact, the Smart 4 Mini does seem decent if we take into consideration the low price.

Thus, Vodafone has confirmed that the smartphone ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and comes packed with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor provided by MediaTek.

It offers 3G connectivity and a mediocre 3-megapixel rear-facing camera. The phone sports a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and packs 4GB of internal memory along with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
