The update should be available later this week or the next

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 owners who purchased their smartphones through Vodafone Australia's official retail channels must be frustrated by the fact that they have yet to receive the long-awaited Android 4.4 KitKat update.

The good news is that they won't have to wait too long, as the Australian carrier has recently confirmed that it is currently testing the major upgrade and will soon release it to Galaxy Note 3 devices across the country.

From past experience with these testing processes, Vodafone Australia usually tests new software for its products for 5-10 days, if nothing bad happens.

Given the fact that the carrier received the software late last week, we expect the Android 4.4 KitKat update to be released later this week or the next.

The update is likely to be pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, which means that not all Samsung Galaxy Note 3 owners will be able to download it at the same time.

It's also worth mentioning that Vodafone will not charge customers for downloading the update over its network, but we recommend Galaxy Note 3 owners to use a Wi-Fi network for faster and more reliable download.

We will keep an eye out for any new details on the matter and will update the news, so stay tuned for additional info.
