The Indian carrier won 4G spectrum in six circles last year in November

Indian carrier Videocon Mobile Services won 4G spectrum in six telecom circles, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh-East and West, back in November 2012.

Today, the operator’s director and CEO, Arvind Bali announced that Videocon had partnered with Nokia Siemens Network for the rollout of 4G services network in India.

As FirstPost points out, Videocon will provide 4G data services, such as mobile TV, HDTV content, digital video broadcasting and video chat.

For the time being, there are no additional details regarding the commercial availability of Videocon’s 4G services in India, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

“We will be pleased to partner with Videocon Mobile Services to launch 4G LTE services in India in order to further drive mobile broadband usage,” said Sandeep Girotra, Nokia Siemens Networks head of India region.
