One of the popular applications out there that hasn’t been released on devices running under the BlackBerry 10 operating system is Viber, though it appears that it might not be too long before it arrives on these phones as well.

Info on the matter was posted on Twitter not long ago, when the Viber team responded to a user inquiry regarding the possible availability of the application on BlackBerry 10 devices.

“We are working with BB on a solution that will allow us to bring Viber for BB10. Please follow us for updates coming soon,” the team said, as CrackBerry found out.

No further details on the matter have been provided, but it would not come as a surprise if the team actually launched a port of their Android app on BlackBerry 10 devices. After all, many other popular apps out there arrived on BlackBerry’s OS this way.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Viber is one of the most popular messenger applications out there, with over 200 million users keeping in touch through it.

Viber allows users not only to text, but also to enjoy voice calls and to send photos and video messages over 3G or Wi-Fi networks. The best part of the deal is that the service is available for free.
