Major carrier Verizon Wireless is rumored to introduce a new budget-friendly Android smartphone, the LG Optimus L3.

According to evleaks via 9to5, the smartphone will be released as LG Optimus Zone and will be available on Verizon’s prepaid. No word on pricing yet, but we expect it to cost under $200/€150.

LG Optimus Zone is likely to ship with Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system out of the box, unless Verizon’s version doesn't bump into Ice Cream Sandwich.

The phone is powered by an 800MHz single-core processor, an Adreno 200 GPU, 384MB of RAM and 1GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

The device also sports a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262k colors. A 3-megapixel rear-facing camera is included as well.
