Now this can be easily tagged as odd news. The unannounced Nokia Lumia 929, which is supposed to make its debut in the United States at Verizon Wireless, is now available for purchase in China.

WMPoweruser reports the Verizon-branded smartphone is now up for purchase in the Mainland via online retailer Taobao for no less than $630 (€465) off contract.

Obviously, some of the networks supported in the phone do not work in China, hence the low price. Still, those who purchase it will be able to use it with 2G on China Mobile and both 2G and 3G on China Unicom.

Nokia Lumia 929 is now expected to be officially announced by the end of February, though it won't come as a surprise if Verizon will completely drop the phone over new models that are likely to be announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
