The official VPlayer video player application for Android devices has just been updated with new features and support for additional formats.

According to the official changelog, VPlayer for Android now features support for H265/HEVC and VP9 decoding video. Those who own the Nexus 5 will be happy to know that developers have also added support for the latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

Last but not least, developers have confirmed they have introduced the rebuild video thumbnail feature and have fixed the background playback issue. These are all the changes announced by VPlayer, but there might be some under the hood minor changes that haven’t been mentioned.

You can now download VPlayer for Android 3.2.3 for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.3 and up.
