The team at VideoLabs has just released a small update for one of the most popular cross-platform media players available on the market, VLC.

Keep in mind though that this is still a beta release, so don’t get your hopes too high. According to the developers, the 16th beta version of VLC for Android is all about addressing issues with the latest iteration of Google’s operating system, KitKat.

Although no in-depth details are offered, VideoLabs claims that lots of the issues with Android 4.4 KitKat platform have been fixed in the latest version of VLC.

No other changes have been included in this update, but we can safely assume that more improvements will be added in future releases.

You can now download VLC for Android for free via Softpedia. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up.
