A new flavor of the Netflix application for Android smartphones and tablets is now available for download, with some interesting new features packed inside.

The app was updated with the option to select to playback on Wi-Fi networks only, a move that should prevent increased usage of mobile data.

“This means that while you can search, browse and enjoy all aspects of the Netflix app on a mobile data connection or Wi-Fi, you can choose (via a "Settings" feature) to playback on Wi-Fi networks only,” Roma De, director of product management at Netflix, explains.

At the same time, the new software release comes with a variety of playback stability improvements, capable of providing users with a better experience than before.

You can download the new Netflix app version from Google Play store today.
