One of the new smartphones that should arrive on shelves in China before the end of the next month is the UMi X2, currently said to have been set for a May 15 launch date.

Earlier this month, UMi kicked off the pre-order period for the smartphone, and has already announced that it has managed to sell over 40,000 limited edition units.

The company is also said to plan on having over 50,000 units ready for the smartphone’s launch next month, though chances are that it will run out of stock fast, given the handset’s price tag of 1,499 Yuan ($243 / 186 Euro), gizchina reports.

The handset sports a 5-inch full HD screen, a quad-core MT6589 processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The device also sports a 2500 mAh battery inside, and runs under Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
