Last week, we reported that the folks over at UCWeb had released the next version of UC Browser for Android devices on their official website.

Fans of the browser who wanted to update to the latest version could download the application from dev’s website, as UC Browser was not available in the Google Play Store.

However, it looks like the situation has changed and UC Browser users can now update to version 9.8.0 via Google Play store, assuming they already have the application installed on their devices.

For those who want to know what the main changes included in this version are, here is a quick recap. First of all, there’s a new cleaner menu that makes it easier for users to find all the functions they need.

The browser now features smart website search, which means that UC Browser will be able to automatically predict the site URL when users type in its keyword in the search bar.

The application is now more efficient on memory usage, which is very important for devices that pack a lower amount of RAM. The developers have also included a new option that displays the phone’s available storage while downloading.

You can now download UC Browser for Android 9.8.0 for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.2 and up.
