UC Browser fans rejoice, as developer UCWeb has just announced that it has kicked off private testing for its latest version of UC Browser Mini for Android devices.

The new update brings the application to version 9.2 and adds some new features and performance improvements. The most important seems to be the fact that the download manager is now 25% faster than the previous version.

According to the developers, UC Browser Mini 9.2 will come with a new function that will allow users to download in the background even after closing the browser.

UCWeb has also confirmed that it has done more tweaking to the download manager to make it easier for users to take advantage of its features.

Keep in mind though that this is a beta version, so you might experience lags and the browser might become unresponsive at times.

However, if you are willing to download and install it, you will have to upgrade from the old version to 9.2. Make sure you try out the new background downloading feature and also the “hide toolbar when scrolling” feature that has been optimized.

You can now download UC Browser Mini 9.2 beta for Android for free via Softpedia. The application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.
