Today, the team of developers over at UCWeb announced the availability of UC Browser Mini 8.1 for Android, currently up for download for testing purposes.

The new version of the browser comes with faster browsing capabilities while offering decreased data usage and the option to easily switch between lite and full pages.

Moreover, the app comes with QR Code Scanning capabilities, as well as Volume Buttons to provide users with a convenient way to turn pages. In UC Browser Mini 8.1 for Android, users can also pin Bookmarks to the homescreen to access them with a single click.

The new app release also brings along fixes for issues previously discovered in the app, such as one affecting the display of pages on phones with large screens.

Users interested in trying out the new flavor of the browser will find it on this page on Softpedia. They should also head over to this forum thread to learn more on it.
