The unofficial ROM is quite buggy but it's a work in progress

Although HTC HD2 was thought to be the only old Windows Mobile smartphone capable of running Windows Phone 7 platform, it appears that Microsoft's newest mobile platform was successfully ported on another handset, the Toshiba Tsunagi.

Also know as Toshiba TG01, the smartphone was delivered with Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional at launch, but received a Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade shortly after.

Fortunately, the folks over at XDA managed to port Windows Phone 7 platform on the Toshiba Tsunagi, though the operating system is quite buggy.

Among the issues reported by those who successfully flashed the ROM is the non-functional camera, the lack of zoom capabilities in maps and pictures, as well as the slow charging times for the battery and poor 3G signal reception.

Additionally, it looks like the ROM eats more storage than expected, as users reported they were left with only 30 MB of internal memory from the initial 512 MB amount.

More details about the ported Windows Phone 7 for Toshiba Tsunagi can be found on XDA Developers forum.
